These initiatives are part of \u201cMalama Hawaii<\/a>,\u201d a sustainable travel movement based on the Hawaiian word malama, meaning \u201cto care for.\u201d Alyson M., an executive assistant in Honolulu, Hawaii, and co-chair of the Asia Pacific Islander TMRG, says:<\/p>\n

\u201cHGV has been true to its commitment to malama the Hawaiian Islands by <\/em>protecting its land and culture<\/em><\/strong>. This initiative has been so effective because of our leaders, who are active contributors to nonprofit organizations across the Hawaiian Islands.
