HGV Team Members Volunteer with Clean the World in Orlando

Last week, HGV team members volunteered at Clean the World’s Orlando warehouse, building 200 hygiene kits and assisting with sorting, processing, and boxing soap. More than 25,000 bars of Clean the World finished soap were sorted and 16,500 bars were boxed to be shipped around the world.

Since 2019, HGV has partnered with Clean the World to expand their global soap recycling program and bring hygiene products to people across the world. By recycling soap and bottled amenities from our properties, our partnership has helped Clean the World’s efforts to serve over 15,000,000 people in over 127 countries.

3 Ways Hilton Grand Vacations Supports Positive Work Culture

Consider a career with Hilton Grand Vacations for excellent benefits programs, career growth opportunities and the chance to work in some of the top travel destinations worldwide.
For people curious about HGV, we spoke with Eric M., the general manager at Liberty Place Charleston, a Hilton Club. His advice for job seekers? Focus on finding companies with healthy work culture.

“We spend enough of our lives at work. So we should work where our opinions are heard and valued and where we have an opportunity to grow. That’s the culture at Hilton Grand Vacations,” Eric said. “There’s an appetite to develop all our Team Members in their careers and as human beings.”

Here are three aspects of HGV’s positive work culture that Eric enjoys.

Personal Career Growth

Eric joined the HGV team partway through his career, opening The District by Hilton Club in Washington, D.C., as club director. He later accepted a position as assistant general manager at The Boulevard, a Hilton Grand Vacations Club, in Las Vegas. When the opportunity arose to open a new property in Charleston, South Carolina, Eric moved his family back to the East Coast.

For Eric, working at different properties and with other teams wasn’t just a chance move; the experiences have made him a better employee and leader. “I was taught early in my career that one way to become a great leader is to expose yourself to different experiences,” he said. “Since then, HGV has offered opportunities to work and learn from different properties, leaders and teams.”

His time with HGV afforded him these opportunities to grow his career and take on more exciting roles and leadership responsibilities. Eric has gone from a new Team Member to general manager within six years.

But that doesn’t mean Eric is done learning. He continued: “I keep prioritizing that exposure throughout my career. For example, we host coffee chats for Team Members in our region, so Team Members have a voice and can share ideas that could impact the entire company. Everyone at HGV wants to continue to grow, and the culture supports that.”

Culture of Excellence

“That being said, my favorite thing about HGV is the shared culture of excellence,” Eric said. He first joined Hilton Grand Vacations in 2016. “I knew I wanted to be a part of something I could grow with and help improve,” he said. There are opportunities for Team Members to help build the company and shape the future of HGV.

Recently, HGV’s success and outstanding service have received recognition. In 2022, Liberty Place Charleston and 53 other resorts earned a Tripadvisor 2022 Travelers’ Choice Award. HGV as a company has also been recognized for its growth, excellent workplace culture and employee support.

Eric credits the shared culture of excellence for HGV’s recent awards: “At HGV, I know that wherever I go, whatever property I work at, everyone has the same drive toward a shared goal. All Team Members strive for excellence.”

Work-Life Balance

Eric’s top accomplishments are both professional and personal. “My proudest professional accomplishment was getting this position and opening one of HGV’s newest gems,” Eric said. “Becoming general manager validated my progress and the way I presented myself. Liberty Place Charleston is a beautiful building, and I got the chance to select my awesome team.”

“However, my top accomplishment is building a family. HGV supports my family and me. My second son was born the week after I started as general manager of Liberty Place Charleston. My leader said to take all the time I needed, even though the property was opening and there was lots to do. We’re all one big team here, and it spoke volumes to me that I had backing from my leaders.” Parental leave is just one of the many benefits offered and demonstrates HGV’s mission to put people first.

In addition to offering comprehensive benefits, HGV also supports work-life balance. “Everyone loves the travel benefits,” said Eric. “It’s helped me see friends and family worldwide. Because we are a vacation-oriented company, we’re always encouraged to take vacations. I’ve stayed at other HGV resorts because I know of their high-quality. Visiting other properties is always encouraged. Because of that, I’ve taken many of those experiences home with me to implement similar ideas at Liberty Place Charleston.”
