Stefi: Hi. My name is Stefi. I’m an intern at the corporate communications department at Hilton Grand Vacations. And I’m a senior at UCF.
Jessica: Hi. My name is Jessica Denmark. I’m currently interning in the Tax department.
Elina: Hi I’m Elina Moon. I’m an incoming senior at Oklahoma City University. And I’m interning here in social media.
Neil: Hi. My name is Neil. I’m interning in the Financial Planning and Analysis department.
Stefi: The culture here is really– it’s welcoming. It’s inviting It makes you happy to be here, in an environment where hospitality is positioned so importantly. Everyone’s happy to be doing their job, and everyone’s just smiling all day.
Neil: It’s definitely very collaborative. I’ve never really had any trouble reaching out to anyone. Anyone I’ve asked for help has definitely just gone above and beyond helping me with any questions that I have or any projects that I’m working on. So it’s very, just, collaborative– almost a family, I would say.
Jessica: Diversity is something that is important to me, not necessarily just ethnic or gender but everyone is from some sort of background that provides something new. It’s indescribable.
Stefi: Through the internship program, we had speakers come in where they tell us about their lives, what their career is like here at HGV, how it’s impacted them, and how they’ve impacted the company. On top of that, we’re going on a volunteering experience this week, to Second Harvest Food Bank. And we have a whole bunch of events planned, this whole semester, that I’m super excited for.
Neil: One of the events that I’ve participated in has been the Parc Soleil Tour. And in the Parc Soleil Tour, we not only got a tour of the sales center, where we saw the actual salesmen talking to potential customers, potential owners, but we also got a tour of the different rooms in the resort. And, by seeing the rooms, we really got a good understanding of what it is that HGV does, because this is what the customers see.
Jessica: When I’m with my team, my questions, ideas, and concerns are given just as much weight as anyone else’s. And I am not given busywork to just, oh, this is the intern. I am working with my team, to accomplish a mutual goal.
Stefi: The best part of this internship so far has definitely been the people. I really value how much everyone values me. And that’s just something that can’t be beat, as an intern, because you go so many other places and, you know, you might be going on coffee runs or filing forms. But here you’re really part of the team. You’re really doing genuine work that’s impacting the lives of so many people.
Elina: I recommend interning with HGV, not only because it’s a great learning experience but HGV also gives its team members some great benefits. Through the travel-benefits program for team members, I was able to visit a Hilton hotel, near some of the theme parks. And it was just a really great experience. I got to bring my whole family, and they were very excited.
Neil: I would recommend anyone intern with HGV, not only because the people are great but also because you get the opportunity to do actual work.
