TOMOKO YAMAZOE

Talent Acquisition Specialist

Joined the company in November 2015 as a Talent Acquisition Specialist.

(Q) What does your work involve?

(A) I am responsible for recruiting talent for the sales department and marketing department in the East Japan (from Hokkaido to Shizuoka) region. I select the type of medium to use for recruitment to suit the job market as well as posting advertising. Responsibilities also include the first round of selection of candidates and arranging interviews with managers, notifying candidates on the results and making follow-up ups until joining the company.

(Q) Satisfaction from work

(A) The biggest satisfaction that I gain from working here is personally witnessing the achievements and the work of those who had the fate of joining the company. I am able to meet a variety of people in day-to-day business, and as someone who does the hiring, I also feel a great senses of satisfaction when I feel that I fulfill the role of communicating the magnificence of Hilton Grand Vacations. I would introduce our company to those who do not know the company and they would say to me that “it seems like a great company.” I think it’s great to make these discoveries.

(Q) Why did you choose the Hilton Grand Vacations?

(A) I originally like travelling abroad and I experienced the goodness of vacations. Since I have always been motivated to work hard in order to go on the next vacation, I sympathized with the Hilton Grand Vacation’s “a vacation way of life.” In addition, during the selection process, I realized that it was just one week later that I would stay at the company’s resort accommodation as a trial and I thought “I’m going to this company next week!” The person in charge of recruitment said to me “see you in one week in Hawaii” and I just thought this was such a coincidence and I felt this was fate.

(Q) Appeal of Hilton Grand Vacations

(A) The Japan offices were established in 2003. This company has a lot of room for growth so when compared with mature organizations, the company always looks for new challenges and I can sense a great deal of change and speed. There is difficulty of me trying to respond to these changes, but it is very appealing that new proposals are easily accepted while I respond to the various moves of the company. Prior to joining the company, I imagined the prestige of the company’s reception area and conference rooms, but after joining the company, upon entering the company offices, there is this open space and as I imagined, since there was no gap with other departments, communication was made easy.

(Q) Message to the applicants from your perspective as the recruiter

(A) Since the company is in the process of growth, I think the company can provide a huge space for people who like to be challenged, who are active and who take initiatives. Currently, I hear things related to the whole outlook on life such as “we were able to change our customers’ lives” from other team members. The company as a whole has set this idea of “a vacation way of life,” and I think those who come in contact with customers can really feel this idea come to life in their bodies.
